Basic European driving kit for motorists
A driving holiday through mainland Europe is a great experience, but it requires some planning and preparation before you travel. Many European countries have laws that require you to carry specific items in your vehicle when you drive on their roads. For instance, in Germany your vehicle must have a GB sticker and you must carry headlamp beam convertors and a first aid kit. The RAC European Driving Kit includes essential motorist products for driving legally in Europe, including a warning triangle, GB sticker and first aid kit.
Remember to check the legal requirements of every country you will be driving through, not only that of your final destination.
Although these items are not required by law to be carried in your car in the UK, it is a good idea to keep them in your car wherever you a driving, in case of a breakdown or emergency.
The European Driving Kit - Basic contains:
- Warning triangle
- Hi Vis vest
- First Aid Kit
- Foil blanket
- GB Sticker
- Headlamp convertor set
- Guidance leaflet
Please note that our Basic European Driving Kit does not include NF certified breathalysers which are required for driving in France.
If you are going to be driving in France or would like a more comprehensive travel kit, then our RAC European Driving Kit - Essential which includes an NF Approved Breathalyser & Spare Bulb Kit.
How to position the GB sticker
We include a Euro symbol GB sticker in this pack for application to your registration plate when travelling within Europe. (Please note that when travelling outside Europe, it is a legal requirement to display an appropriate oval-shaped GB sticker.) Vehicles travelling within Europe not displaying the Euro symbol are required by law to display an oval GB sticker.
