The current range runs from the entry-level 322GW up to the flagship 622GW, with the compact PIQO sitting alongside for anyone who'd rather have something smaller and less obtrusive on the windscreen. Every model records continuously while you drive, loops over old footage automatically so you never run out of storage, and includes some form of parking mode so the camera keeps working even after you've walked away from the car. Where they actually differ is resolution, screen size, and how much of the "connected" side — Alexa, live footage syncing, GPS tagging — you want built in.

Only top-end dash cam models feature touch screen capabilities, keeping the camera smaller and more discreet with no need for side buttons.

If an accident occurs and the driver is unresponsive, Emergency SOS alerts emergency services with your exact location and critical crash details.

After anti-false-positive checks, 'beacon mode' activates to send GPS coordinates and personal medical info via the MyNextbase Connect app.

Adding a rear or cabin camera

The 322GW, 422GW and 522GW can all take a clip-on Rear View Camera or Cabin View Camera, which plug straight into the side of the main unit with no extra wiring. The Rear View Camera records the road behind you through a narrower telephoto lens, useful evidence if you're rear-ended or someone tailgates. The Cabin View Camera instead faces inward with a wide 140° angle, which is what taxi and private hire drivers tend to go for, since it covers passengers as well as the windows either side.

The 622GW and PIQO don't currently support these clip-on modules, so if a rear or cabin view is a priority, one of the Series 2 models (322GW/422GW/522GW) is the better starting point.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between the Nextbase 422GW and 522GW?

Both record in 1440p and both include Alexa, but the 522GW has a larger 3" screen and adds a polarising lens to cut down glare and reflections off the windscreen — genuinely useful if you drive toward low sun often. The 422GW gets you the same core resolution and voice control for less, so it's the better value pick unless the glare reduction matters to you specifically.

Is the Nextbase 622GW worth the extra cost?

If you want 4K footage sharp enough to make out number plates at a distance, plus the smoothest video thanks to its image stabilisation, then yes. For most everyday driving, though, the 522GW's 1440p is already more than clear enough to satisfy an insurer, so the 622GW suits drivers who want the best available rather than those who strictly need it.

Can I add a rear camera to any Nextbase dash cam?

Not to all of them. The Rear View Camera and Cabin View Camera modules are built to click into the side of the 322GW, 422GW or 522GW specifically. If you already own one of those three, adding rear or cabin coverage doesnt involve any extra wiring. The 622GW and PIQO don't support these clip-on add-ons at the moment.

Do I need to buy an SD card separately?

Yes none of the Nextbase cameras come with one as standard. We stock Nextbase's own 32GB, 64GB and 128GB U3 cards, which are rated to handle the write speeds these cameras need; a cheaper generic card can cause dropped frames or corrupted footage, so it's not somewhere it pays to cut costs.

What happened to my old Nextbase dash cam model?

Nextbase regularly retires older models once a newer equivalent launches. If you're looking for a 322 (non-GW), 402G, 380GWX or similar and can't find it in our range, it's almost certainly been superseded see the table on this page for what replaced what.
